One of the key advantages of using StoneLite™ panels on an interior is the ability to simply adhesively mount the panels directly over drywall, steel stud framing, or the existing backup.

The adhesive used depends on what the panels are being attached to, but we usually suggest using Liquid Nails® for Subfloors™ when attaching to drywall or wood, and structural silicone when attaching directly to steel stud framing or aluminum.

Adhesive is placed on the back of the panel at 24" o.c. in each direction maximum. The panels are then set in place with shim blocks around them to set the proper joint size. Screws with large washers are then screwed through the joints to hold the panels in place.

The adhesive is allowed to set up for a few days before the screws with washers and shim blocks are removed.

StoneLite™ panels can be field cut easily with a dry-cut diamond blade (available at most hardware stores) in an angle grinder or circular saw. We recommend using masking tape on all cuts to allow marking and to minimize chipping.
