CAPITOL FEDERAL BANK – Topeka, KS
The renovations to the Capitol Federal Bank presented an ideal opportunity for SPI to play a key role in the revitalization of a city and help restore a historical landmark built in 1961. The 1″ blue tile ceramic tiles designed for the seven story bank were over clad with StoneLite® St. Hubert SLG limestone and Dakota Mahogany granite panels.
StoneLite® panels were the optimum choice because of their lightweight adherent capabilities, quick installation time, and did not require demolition of the existing façade which meant the tenants were not displaced during the installation process.
PORTAGE COUNTY PROSECUTING ATTORNEY – Ravenna, OH
In addition to the need for more space, the new home of the attorney’s office was in need of a face lift without completely tearing down the structure itself. The building’s exterior was pre-cast concrete, which could not handle the loading of 2-foot by 3-foot granite panels, so the architects turned to StoneLite®.
A third floor was added that increased usable floor space by 50% and a building constructed in 1969 was transformed from an outdated commercial building to a modern judicial facility.
BANCO POPULAR – San Juan, Puerto Rico
Banco Popular was originally clad in the iconic sixties design blue mosaic tile. The challenges were to select an exterior cladding product that could withstand hurricane force winds and have the ability to be installed without displacing tenants. The logical choice was StoneLite® Rosa Ghiandone granite panels. StoneLite® is the only lightweight panel system to have the Miami Dade NOA certification.
JW OPERATING HANGAR – Addison, TX
JW Operating had recently constructed their new corporate offices and installed exterior StoneLite® lightweight natural stone panels. They were so impressed with the outcome they decided to renovate their operating hangar located across the street. A nondescript, dated structure was transformed using a mix of architectural elements including StoneLite® Noce and Roman Classic travertine exterior panels.
