StoneLite® Panels are Part of Anticipated Terminal 3 Debut in Summer 2012
DALLAS (November 2011) – Construction on the brand new Terminal 3 at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada is virtually completed and the facility is expected to debut to the public this summer, according to E-Travel Blackboard. For Stone Panels, Inc., the public debut of McCarran’s Terminal 3 will be a big moment. As a building material of choice for the Terminal 3 project, StoneLite® panels from Stone Panels, Inc. were incorporated on an impressive scale. The firm of PGAL architects, who oversaw the portion of construction involving Stone Panels, Inc., made use of 110,000 square feet of Gascogne Beige Limestone StoneLite® panels.
The team from this Alexandria, Virginia-based architecture firm saw fit to include natural stone composite panels from Stone Panels, Inc. in both exterior and interior applications for McCarran’s new terminal. These applications of Gascogne Beige Limestone panels were of an open joint (rain screen) design. As an environmentally friendly building material, StoneLite® has contributed to an LEED (leadership in energy and environmental design) status of “energy efficient design”.
The construction project that is Terminal 3 at McCarran Airport is a $2.4 billion undertaking that encompasses a 1.9 million square foot facility, spanning three floors. For the airport and Clark County, McCarran’s Terminal 3 represents an improvement in traffic flow efficiency, capacity, and quality; in and out of Las Vegas.
