Onsite Storage of Wall Panel Stone

In spite of how much easier wall panel stone is to install as an alternate to dimensional stone, most installations can\’t be completed in one day. Rome wasn\’t build in a day either, so don\’t sweat it. But if you\’re installing StoneLite®, it\’s important to store the wall panel stone properly on the job site in order to preserve its quality. Here are some tips:

  • Store StoneLite® in a clean and dry area that is free from contamination
  • When StoneLite® are removed from their packaging crate, they need to be placed on a shock-absorbent support (like an expanded polystyrene) for edge protection
  • We recommend that our wall panel stone be placed so that identification numbers are easily readable. This makes it easier to find needed panels during installation. It also reduces handling, which reduces labor cost and the possibility that the edges of the StoneLite® get damaged from being bumped or dropped

While StoneLite® are durable and impact-resistant, their natural stone facing can be easily chipped around the edges. Also, the face surfaces of softer stones can become marred or stained by dirt, mud, or other contaminates. But with a few simple steps, builders can take proper care of their wall panel stone. And, in turn, StoneLite® can take proper care of a building and its occupants as an alternate to dimensional stone.
