23-24 NEWMAN ST.

A multi-story exterior, column band, balcony fascias, and soffits project clad in 313 m2 of StoneLite® St. Hubert SLG and Texas Cordova Shellstone Limestone. The project scope was a retrofit and conversion of a 1970’s unsightly office building  into 23 residential apartments with office accommodations on the ground floor.

The StoneLite® panels lightweight properties are a natural solution to architectural features where weight may be an issue.

The project won Best Housing (Large) in the AJ Retrofit Awards 2012 and a Blue Ribbon Award for Best Apartment.

When First Savings Bank acquired the deteriorated building it had water entering the building through the existing EFIS cladding, the original finish was worn and weathered, and there were visible patches where attempts had been made to repair the exterior skin.

The client’s primary objective was to convert this unoccupied multi-tenanted building from a non performing liability to a valuable asset at a fraction of the cost and time required for demolition and rebuilding.  Heavy solid stone was not an option as it would have required extensive reinforcing of the existing structure.

The client was able to modify the existing facade by specifying StoneLite® Blue Pearl granite panels. By selecting StoneLite®, the building’s exterior steel stud framing could remain in place.

While the building has undergone tenant changes and is now home to Provident Bank the exterior remains as beautiful today as when it was installed in 1997.

Stone Panels, Inc. completed a renovation project by over cladding an existing office building with failing mosaic tile plus a two story roof extension.

The building was stripped back to its frame and reclad with 2,200 m² of StoneLite® Crossland Hills exterior sandstone panels. The project was completed without displacing tenants and the shopping center was able to operate without interruption.

In depth project details may be found on our blog Re-Cladding Projects with StoneLite®: Merrion Centre.

Approximately 1,000 m² of StoneLite® Mocha Creme limestone panels were installed on the exterior of this multi-story building.  A portion of the project was an over clad of failing dimensional Portland Stone and the other part were panels glazed into a curtain wall application.

A mixed use residential, office, and retail property that used over 1,200 m² of StoneLite® St. Hubert SLG  exterior limestone panels.  This project was part over clad and part new building with a two story roof extension.
