|TEMPLE UNIVERSITY – Science, Education & Research Center (SERC)||
Temple University selected StoneLite® Cenia limestone panels to grace the exterior of their new seven story SERC building. More than 46,000 sq. ft. of StoneLite® panels were installed in an open joint, exterior rain screen application. In addition to the exterior flat panels SPI also manufactured the highly complicated and detailed stair components including the cap.
The architectural team was able to visit our manufacturing facility in Coppell, TX to view the panels and determine the placement of panels through an onsite lay down.
|NATIONAL CONSTITUTION CENTER||
The exterior of the building features a façade of Select Buff Indiana StoneLite® limestone panels broken up by 8 inch bands of Chelmsford granite StoneLite® panels.
Approximately 20,000 sq. ft. of the same exterior stones were installed on the interior walls over steel stud framing. The average size panel was 5′ x 3’4″ but the pieces weighed only 60 lbs. Some panels were fabricated to various angled corner shapes, others to a convex curve or a concave curved shape at a fraction of the cost that would have been incurred for solid stone.
Another 9,000 sq. ft. of StoneLite® was installed on the upper exterior walls over the atrium.
|DREXEL UNIVERSITY – INTEGRATED SCIENCE BUILDING||
This multi-story open joint/rainscreen system required more than 36,000 sq. ft. of StoneLite® Indiana Standard Buff limestone with a honed finish fabricated into approximately 1,950 pieces to set.
