About the project
Nesbett Courthouse exterior façade was clad in 35,000 sq. ft. of StoneLite® Rosa Porino and Rossa Taivassallo granite panels in honed and sandblasted finishes.
The Alaska State Courthouse was designed as a public disaster shelter during seismic activity and is able to withstand 2 inch floor to floor lateral displacement. StoneLite®‘s flexural ability makes it a natural for any project requiring stone in a seismic zone.
The four story government building was completed in 1994. After 20+ years of exposure to Alaskan freeze-thaw weather conditions, the panels remain durable and beautiful.
