StoneLite® interior stone panels showcase the natural beauty of stone but eliminate its fragile, brittle, and variable properties. StoneLite® interior stone panels are ideal for overhead applications. Weighing only 3.3 lbs. per sq. ft. StoneLite® panels are easily supported by common ceiling framing and can be quickly installed with no special lifting equipment required. StoneLite® panels also provide a quick return on investment for the building owner as the natural stone finish upgrades their image, increasing occupancy and tenant satisfaction.
In renovation, using StoneLite® panels for over-cladding is usually the most cost effective solution and can quickly convert a dated interior into a modern space. Covering existing walls saves the expense of removing and disposing of the existing cladding. When over-cladding with Stone Panels, building occupants can remain with minimal disturbance, and the location continues to produce income.
Below are several examples highlighting unique interior design and installation applications featuring StoneLite® natural stone panels.
ROBERT T. MATSUI FEDERAL COURTHOUSE – Sacramento, CA
The combination of StoneLite® natural stone, state-of-the-art computer-aided design, and CNC machining to cut the oblique shapes, allowed the creation of the architect’s design intent for the 27 story rotunda of the Robert T. Matsui Federal Courthouse in Sacramento, CA.
More than 9,000 different StoneLite® Valders Dolomite pieces, each having a slightly different size and different trapezium shape, clad the sloping walls in this elliptic, ever-changing radius room. Each panel was drawn to scale using Autocad and then programmed into the CNC machine to be cut to their specific dimension. Each piece was labeled with it’s individual location and shipped to the jobsite. All of the pieces fit exactly as planned into this geometric design.
In addition to the rotunda StoneLite®Prairie Green granite panels were installed in the lobby.
KOREAN SUPREME COURT BUILDING – Seoul, South Korea
StoneLite® Puchon granite was factory fabricated into rectangular shapes for this beautiful ceiling in the Korean Supreme Court Building in Seoul, Korea.
EMBARCADERO CENTERS – San Francisco, CA
At Embarcadero Centers I, II, III, & IV in San Francisco, StoneLite® Vilhonneur limestone was fabricated to appear as thick, heavy stone cladding the walls of three lobby levels in each of the four buildings plus 80 elevator cabs. All work was done between the hours of 8:00 pm and 6:00 am without any disturbance to the occupants. The panels were supplied in pre-assembled modules, stored in a parking garage in the basement, and loaded into the elevators to be brought up to the lobbies as required.
The interior stone panels were installed directly over the fractured rib concrete, with no additional framing required.
SANDRIDGE OFFICE TOWER – Oklahoma City, OK
An interior lobby and elevator banks restoration featuring more than 6,700 sq. ft. of StoneLite® Gascogne Beige limestone in honed and bush hammered finishes. There were 3,275 custom fabricated pieces to set. This was an over clad project in which the original interior of 3 cm Dakota Mahogany granite 5′ x 12′ panels were left in place and served as the fire barrier.
ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – Orlando, FL
THOMAS F. EAGLETON FEDERAL COURTHOUSE – St. Louis, MO
An interior project which includes more than 48,ooo sq. ft. of StoneLite® St. Hubert Limestone accented with curved StoneLite® Rosada Marble, Oconee Charcoal and Impala Black granite panels. Interior radius panels are a natural fit for StoneLite® as our flexural strength allows the panels to be curved. This same radius would be more difficult to achieve using dimensional stone based on the structural requirements for dimensional stone and labor costs to create the curved stone radius.
