JL TOWER

Over 56,000 sq. ft. of StoneLite® Mocha Creme limestone panels were installed on the exterior of this 14 story building over steel stud framing and 2-inch thick rigid insulation board.  An additional 15,000 sq. ft. of StoneLite® limestone adorns the interior lobbies in the building as well.

The architect wanted the cachet of the stone finish but dimensional stone weighed too much and the project is in a seismic zone.  StoneLite®‘s ability to flex along with freeze thaw testing made it ideal for meeting the seismic and the wide temperature swing requirements.

Additional details on this project may be found under the Project Profile tab.

LEXUS OF THOUSAND OAKS

StoneLite® Impala Black granite panels were manufactured with a flamed and blushed finish to compliment other platinum hued materials. The flaming process not only changed the color to a more platinum hue but provided a textural element. A significant number of panels included 1, 2 and 3 sided returns up to 5” creating the monolithic appearance of dimensional stone. Panels were installed on the exterior facade, interior, columns, interior soffit, and parapet.

OVERFORMYNDERIET

The Ministry building adjacent to the Parliament was historically significant and needed to undergo restoration as the substrate was failing and the exterior façade was being held in place with surface fasteners. The goal was to maintain the Greenland marble on the exterior but replacing it with newly mined material was not an option as the quarry was closed in the 1920s.

The existing Greenland marble was removed from the exterior and shipped to Texas where it was fabricated into StoneLite® panels. Lightweight stone plugs were manufactured to insert into the holes created by the surface fasteners. Some corner panels required a fixed curved and were fabricated to a radius of 11’-1” and 7’-9”.

24 LEONARD ST.

24 Leonard St. was a four story parking garage and the developer converted it into a nine story condo building using StoneLite® Mocha Crème limestone panels for the exterior façade.  The panels have a vertically grained honed finish and were fabricated with finished outside returns with the largest return at 11”.  More than 10,000 sf of StoneLite® material was installed.

23-24 NEWMAN ST.

A multi-story exterior, column band, balcony fascias, and soffits project clad in 313 m2 of StoneLite® St. Hubert SLG and Texas Cordova Shellstone Limestone. The project scope was a retrofit and conversion of a 1970’s unsightly office building  into 23 residential apartments with office accommodations on the ground floor.

The StoneLite® panels lightweight properties are a natural solution to architectural features where weight may be an issue.

The project won Best Housing (Large) in the AJ Retrofit Awards 2012 and a Blue Ribbon Award for Best Apartment.

SPI produced over 48,000 sq. ft. of StoneLite® Indiana Gray limestone panels to grace the exterior facade on this new construction 21 story high end luxury residence building.

The project was designed by Perkins Eastman for Toll Brothers City Living.

The design combines irregularly patterned windows with classic natural lightweight stone panels to create a  unique modern structure.
