About the project
A six story corporate office building completed in 2009 using more 15,000 sq. ft. of StoneLite® Impala Black Granite exterior panels with a flamed finish. The project scope included some exterior walls plus deep column covers and fascias.
Not all stones are able to be flamed. The stone needs to have the correct crystal structure and the larger the crystal the more depth to the flamed finish. Flaming also lightens the stone color which is appealing to architects and designers as they have the opportunity to create a specific hue.
